Bio:
Oba was a ten year old singer who released a couple of mid-80s singles on Smashed Records.
From the press release for the 1985 repress of SMASHED 017:
"SMASHED RECORDS are pleased to brin you OBA and the FRANKLIN KIDS with a re-release of "I STILL BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS".
Since it's first release, SMASHED RECORDS has been amazed at the number of people who would like to hear it on the radio once more. When you listen to it again it's not so surprising, as OBA must have one of the greatest voices for a girl who is now only ten years old. This together with the writing talents of Bill Franklyn makes for a fantastic christmas sound.
OBA is no stranger to publicity, hacving appeared on UTV's "Kids Stuff" and "The Late Late Show" together with a successful audition for the stage show "Annie", OBA must feel like an old pro.
Following last years "Late Late Show" appearance, when OBA and the Franklyn Kids performed "I STILL BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS" and the subsequent showing on Channel 4, OBA received a very tempting offer from one of London's top theatrical agencies with a view to management in the UK. Due to OBA's age, it was decided to hold off for the moment and plan for the future.
Still this does not mean we cannot enjoy OBA's talents this christmas."
