Bio:
From the liner notes of his 1975 debut LP:
"Tony Malone's career since 1977 in the music world
has been a star studded one but not without its
disappointments. Tony's first break came when
Mick Treacy, an artist he was backing was unable
to appear due to uillness and Tony stepped in
and amazed all present with his excellent singing.
At around this time, Tony was asked to join the
immensely popular group known as The Weavers.
The Weavers consisted of Kevin Geraghty, Don Knox (later in Spud,
Brendan Lesson and Stan McCarthy. During his time
with them Tony sang lead vocals on two of their hits
namely "Henry My Son" and "The Fiddler".
In 1971 following to a family bereavement Tony left
the business but returned in 1973
as a solo artist mainly due to the
insistance of his close friends.
He has had phenomenal success as a cabaret artist
playing to packed houses wherever he goes.
Now following two single releases you his fans
have the opportunity of listening to this
Tony's first album which includes many of his
popular cabaret numbers and self-penned songs."
