Bio:
Formed in June 1978, this teenage punk outfit became the top local band, playing
support to visiting bands most notably Ruefrex, The Androids and Cobra for a
charity gig organised in April 1979 which also featured local band Fifth Column.
They split in October 1979 due to musical differences despite talk of releasing
a single.
The idea for a single lingered in the minds of the two main songwriters, Paul
Corken and Robert Scott, who enlisted the help of drummer Adrian Maddox from
Fifth Column to record four songs at Downtown Radio studios. These were released
as a posthumous 4-track EP, not simply to document their old band but to
establish a new record label Solo Records to release material by their new
bands. Ultimately only one more single would emerge on Solo, by Carpenter Joe.
Lineup: Hugh 'Chad' Cairns (vocals), Paul Corken (guitar), John Clarke (bass), Steven Clarke (drums).
John Clarke (ex The Standards) replaced by Robert Scott (ex The Skis) in November 1978.
Adrian Maddox (Fifth Column guitarist) plays drums on the 1980 EP.
Scott and Maddox were later in Palace of Variety.
Scott was later in Carpenter Joe.
Steven Clarke and Hugh 'Chad' Cairns later in The Co-Ordinates.
500 copies pressed but most were unsold and many of these have gone missing over the years; reputedly as many as 200 copies destroyed or lost, making this single a tough one to find.
