The Coletranes

From: Ballinteer, Dublin

Active: 1988-91

Style:

Lineup:

Bio:

Previously known as Crocodile Tears, the Coletranes (sometimes mispelled Coletraines) were a highly promising late 80s act whose recording career was stalled a number of times by music biz problems. A single was announced on Vixen (circa late 1990) and then on Mother. "I Wake Up" was finally released on Son (a subsiduary of Mother Records) in 1991 and reached #5 in the Irish charts. For some reason it is quite difficult to find now and it may be that as many copies sold on cassette as on vinyl.

Ian O Donoghue left in summer of 1991 and was replaced by Monty (Alan Montgomery) of The Dixons. The band changed name to Revelino and finally broke through, releasing several recordings on the Dirt label.
