Bio:
Phil Chevron is best known for his time in the Radiators From Space
and The Pogues.
The Radiators split in 1981 and Chevron joined the Pogues in 1984. In
between he was involved in a number of projects and released two solo records.
"Songs from Bill's Dancehall" was a collection of songs from the musical "Happy
End" (1929) written by Bertold Brecht and Kurt Weill.
"The Captains And The Kings" was a song written by Brendan Behan, included in his play
The Hostage. It was recorded in London in July 1983 with Elvis Costello co-producing
with Colin Fairley. Both tracks have appeared on various Demon compilaton CDs.
Chevron also has a long list of production credits including The Radiators and
The Atrix, Agnes Bernelle, the Men They Couldn't Hang,
Mighty Clouds of Dust, The Peelers, The Pogues,
The Prisoners, The Real Wild West and the Tall Boys a.o.
He is currently in the reformed Radiators.
Notes:5-track mini album of Brecht/Weill songs from the musical Happy End (1929), a testament to Agnes Bernelle's influence on Phil Chevron. The credits include ex Radiators drummer Jimmy Crashe (drums), John 'Irish' Earle (sax) and Niall MacMahon (guitar).
The B-side features Chevron on acoustic guitar and tamborine and Elvis Costello on Hammond organ, Spanish guitar and piano.
